How to create a unique face your house number:
- Start by gluing the pre-cut pieces of pine together to form a box – drizzle glue along the edge of the 84mm x 50mm piece and secure the 2 x 50mm x 249mm pieces onto it then finally, add the 120mm x 140mm piece to form the box
- Secure the side panels to the bottom panel with the screws and cover up with wood filler
- Mark the position of the box on the back panel with a pencil to ensure enough space for the planter and the numbers on the panel, then place the box onto the marked spot
- Sand down the surfaces until nice and smooth and dust off
- Paint a few thin layers of wood stain, leaving it to dry between each coat
- Position the numbers and make guiding holes with either a pencil or the first few millimeters of the drill tip
- Screw the numbers in place securely with wood screws
- Drill in two holes in the panel, 4cm from the top and 4cm from the sides, to create a space to hang it up against the wall
- Add your desired foliage to the box to finish off the look
And voilà! A bit of rudimentary woodwork, a quick coat and a pretty outdoor planter, and your front door does so much more! Visit your nearest BUCO to find all the DIY project items you need to do more with your home.
