For many South Africans their swimming pools are more than just source relief from the summer heat - often it is at the centre of many social events such as weekend braais, children’s birthday parties and sundowners with friends. But with regular droughts, exasperated by climate change and increased demands on our limited water resources, it becomes increasingly challenging and costly for homeowners to maintain their swimming pools. On a hot day evaporation can lead to a loss of between 45 to 90 litres of your pool’s water.
