    TERMS AND CONDITIONS - BUCO X My Design Rules TV Show Competition

    Participating stores: All BUCO stores nationwide

    Competition Period: 06 October – 29 December 2025 

    1. Promoter: The promoter of the Competition is BUCO - The Building Company (Pty) Ltd ("the Promoter").
    2. Name of the Competition: BUCO X My Design Rules TV Show Competition ("the Competition"). 
    3. Competition Period:
      1. The Competition will run from 06 October to 25 November 2025, both days included ("the Competition Period"). Winner for the grand prize will be announced 28 November 2025. Winners must be available to travel to Cape Town between 11 – 14 December 2025 to be eligible for the Grand Prize.
      2. Social Giveaway: Weekly spot prizes will run concurrently during the Competition Period.
    4. Acceptance of Terms: By entering the Competition and/or accepting any prize (if you are a winner), you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. 
    1. Eligibility:
      1. Grand Prize: The Competition is open to all participants who are South African residents, aged 18 years and older, with a valid South African ID or permanent residency permit. Winners will be required to fill out a form to claim their prize.
      2. Social Giveaway: Open to all South African residents aged 18 years and older with a valid South African ID or permanent residency permit.
        A new entry is required each week to be eligible. Winners will be required to fill out a form to claim their prize.
      3. Employees, directors, members, or partners of BUCO, My Design Rules, their affiliates, subsidiaries, and any suppliers involved in this Competition, as well as their immediate family members, are not eligible to enter.
    2. How to Enter:
      1. Grand Prize: a. Enter the competition by dialling the USSD *120*22442# and enter your details to be eligible for the competition.
      2. Social Giveaway:
        1.  Enter by commenting on the relevant competition post on BUCO’s social media channels (Instagram or Facebook). b. Take a picture or reel in store and share it on our social media pages using the hashtags #MyBucofind and #BeginwithBuco. c. Only posts using the hashtags #MyBucofind and #BeginwithBuco are eligible.
    3. Prizes:
      1. Grand Prize: One Grand Prize is available to be won, consisting of a weekend away for 2 to witness and be a part of the season finale and winner announcement, as well as a Buco voucher to the value of R20,000.
      2. Social Giveaway: Weekly spot prizes ranging between R1,000 and R2,500 in value, will be given away throughout the Competition Period.
      3. Weekly Spot Prizes:
        1. Week 1 – 12: R2,500 BUCO voucher.
        2. Prizes are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash.
    4. Winner Selection:
      1. Grand Prize: A winner will be randomly drawn after the conclusion of the competition period, 29 December 2025 and announced on 05 January 2026 via Social Media. Winners will be randomly selected by Colony, the third-party overseeing the winner selection.
    5. Contacting the Winner:
      1. Grand Prize:
        1.  The winner will be contacted via the contact details provided during the USSD or competition page entry, before being announced on social media.
        2. If a winner cannot be reached within 48 hours of the first attempt, the prize will be forfeited, and another winner will be drawn.
      2. Social Giveaway:
        1. Weekly spot prize winners will be contacted via direct message (DM) on the platform they entered from, and winners may also be publicly announced on the social media channel.
        2. If a winner does not respond within 48 hours, another winner will be drawn.
    6. Verification and Prize Distribution:
      1. Grand Prize:
        1. The winner needs to be a South African resident, aged 18 years and older, with a valid South African ID or permanent residency permit.
        2. Colony will provide the winner’s details to BUCO’s team for prize distribution.
      2. Social Giveaway:
        1. The winners need to be South African residents, aged 18 years and older, with a valid South African ID or permanent residency permit.
    7. Promotional Activities: Winners agree that BUCO and its authorised agents may use their names and photos for publicity purposes in any media without additional compensation, unless refused.
    8. Amendments and Cancellation: The Promoter reserves the right to amend or cancel the Competition and its prizes at any time, for any reason, and without notice. In such an event, participants waive any rights or expectations against BUCO and agree that they will have no claim against the Promoter.
    9. Privacy and Data Protection:
      1. BUCO and its group companies will ensure that all personal information provided by entrants is securely stored and processed in compliance with South African data protection laws.
      2. By entering this Competition, you consent to your data being processed by BUCO and its affiliates for the purposes of the Competition and for marketing communications, unless you opt out.
    10.  Exclusions and Limitation of Liability:
      1. BUCO is not responsible for any loss, damage, or personal injury suffered by any participant as a result of entering the Competition or accepting any prize.
      2. The Promoter shall not be held liable for technical or communication failures, or any circumstance beyond its control that prevents a participant from entering the Competition or claiming the prize
      3. The company is not liable for any further expenses or fees required for the purpose of using, installation, applying, or enjoying the prizes won in this Competition.
    11. Weekly Reporting: The Promoter will track competition entries weekly, aligned with the airing schedule of My Design Rules, to monitor participation. 
    12. Governing Law: The Competition and these Terms and Conditions are governed by South African law, and any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the South African courts.
    13. Winners give The Building Company and its authorized agents consent to use their names & photos for publicity purposes, unless refused.
    14. The Building Company reserves the right to vary, suspend, postpone, or terminate the competition and any prizes, or any aspect thereof, for any reasons whatsoever and without notice. In such event, you hereby waive any rights or expectations which you may have against BUCO and acknowledge that you will not have any recourse or claim of any nature against The Building Company.
    15. Your privacy is very important to The Building Company, Buco stores and the Pepkor group of companies (https://www.pepkor.co.za/retail-segments/) will use reasonable efforts in order to ensure that any information, including personal information, provided by you, or which is collected from you, is stored in a secure manner. You agree to provide Pepkor with accurate and current information and to maintain and update such information when necessary. The information collected by Pepkor may be used to send you information about products, services, and special offers of the various companies in the Pepkor group that may be of interest or value to you. The information may also be processed by The Building company and other companies in the Pepkor group, any of their operators, agents and subcontractors (who may be outside South Africa) on the condition that they will keep such information confidential.
    16. You acknowledge that any information supplied to The Building Company and the Pepkor group of companies in terms of these Terms and Conditions is provided voluntarily.
    17. By submitting any information to The Building Company and the Pepkor group of companies in any form, you further acknowledge that such conduct constitutes an unconditional, specific and voluntary consent to the processing of such information by The Building Company and the Pepkor group of companies under any applicable law in the manner contemplated above, which consent shall, in the absence of any written objection received from you, be indefinite and/or for the period otherwise required in terms of any applicable law. 
    18. Unless you have consented, The Building Company and the Pepkor group of companies will not sell, exchange, transfer, rent or otherwise make available any personal information about you (such as name, address, email address, telephone, or fax number) to other parties and you indemnify The Building Company and the Pepkor group of companies from any unintentional disclosures of such information to unauthorized persons.
    19. Should you believe that The Building Company and the Pepkor group of companies have used your personal information contrary to applicable law, you shall first resolve any concerns with The Building Company and the Pepkor group of companies. If you are not satisfied with such a process, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator.
    20. You can choose to be excluded from direct marketing by notifying The Building Company in writing or by registering a block on any registry which The Building Company is bound by law to recognise. The Building Company will not charge you a fee to update this request on its systems. The Building Company will give effect to any changes requested by you as soon as reasonably possible.
