Supporting Our Communities
At BUCO, we strive to empower all the communities that we operate in, by providing people such as scholars and those in need with access to a safe harbour. We also want to make a meaningful impact through our Project Pillars, by sharing knowledge and resources in order to achieve sustainable projects.

“Resonating with our slogan, Let’s build together, we cooperate with formally registered organisations who are focused on the restoration, renovation or rebuilding of various spaces.”
Whether you look at it from a social or economical aspect (and of course when the two can be combined), community support is such a powerful part of the South African narrative. Think of the word “Ubuntu” and what that means: “I am because you are”.
Hailed from the Zulu phrase of “Umuntu ngumuntu ngabantu” — it means that a person is a person through other people. You will have heard this in so many other contexts: “stronger together” … “united we stand — divided we fall” … There are many iterations that drive the same truth forth!
This is something we are passionate about at BUCO. We couldn’t stand on our soapbox and proudly loud-hail our knowledge and capacity for all things building, if we weren’t a community supporter that didn’t at least acknowledge where we could add value in a socio capacity. Resonating with our slogan: “Let’s build together” — we cooperate with formally registered organisations that are focused on the restoration, renovation or rebuilding of various spaces.

The BUCO Community Support Projects
What are the BUCO support projects?
There are various projects in the works, the most recent is the result of collaborative partnership. The CoCreate Hub initiative started in 2019 when the Building Company’s CSI partner, Ranyaka Community Transformation, was awarded a ten-year lease for a historic building in the centre of the picturesque Winelands town. The former community clinic will now become a space to nurture future entrepreneurs and inject much-needed energy into the health of the local economy.
BUCO saw the immense potential of the project and came on board as one of the primary partners. We donated a wide range of building materials to help make this transformation possible — from doors, skirtings, lintels, concrete, cornices, copper pipes, tiles, rhino board, paving, paint and varnish to water tanks, basins, sinks, geysers, paving, post-form tops, plumbing pipes and accessories, and more, which helped to facilitate the dramatic transformation of the building.

How can I help support the community with BUCO?
Impactful developments start with great partnerships! If you see an opportunity where your skill set, business offering or area of speciality could partner with us and ours for the betterment and upliftment of a community project, we would like to hear from you.
