BUCO, Timbercity and Indawo proudly present a brand-new local home makeover show that will have DIY enthusiasts grabbing for their toolboxes.

In 1, 2, 3 Fixit – which premieres on the Afrikaans lifestyle channel VIA (DStv channel 147) on Thursday 28 February – three teams will compete against one another to renovate one house one room at a time. The show is inspired by Tuis and Home magazines’ Fixit with flair/Regruk met flair competition, which has been rewarding the blood, sweat and tears of amateur renovators since 2011.

fix-itThe challenge:

The challenge set for the three 1, 2, 3 Fixit teams is simple: The homeowner Annelie Carstens’ house in Cape Town’s Northern Suburbs is in dire need of remodeling and renovation. Her home is divvied up between three teams. The teams will race against time to fix up her house one room at a time. But there’s a twist: a series of mini-challenges demands that teams must also show off their DIY skills. Each one of their spaces must feature a piece of furniture or décor that they have made from whatever material they can find on site.

Every week the teams must reveal one living space which is then scrutinized by a panel of judges from Tuis/Home magazine, BUCO, Timbercity, and of course, the homeowner herself. One winner is crowned per week and the final score at the end of the season will determine which team walks away as the master renovators.
